I am a designer and I am also a front-end developer. I studied fine art originally, mostly painting, then started web designing in London in 1996. It was the ‘Wild West’ of the internet, everything was new, not many people knew what they were doing. I learnt on the job and with this experience I now know that the web should be about simple, clever design and accessibility.
In London I lead a small team to great results. I have excellent communication skills among designers and developers. Because I strongly believe that designers should understand at least the basics of what developers do. Just like developers should be familiar with the basic rules of graphic design. Now based in Brighton as a freelancer I have the opportunity to work on more varied projects with many different companies.
